The team shoot is sponsored by the West Virginia Muzzleloaders Association. This is a list of the rules the Team Shoot will follow. We hope you will take the time to look them over and make palns to send a team to this event.
- The State Association will provide Range Officers, Scores, and the targets. The Association will be at the range at 8:00 am and ready to start the shoot at 9:00 am.
- A written list of the team members and alternates will be submitted no later than the State Offhand. Free trappers and last minute teams will be allowed to enter, but must have a list of the entire team. Entire list of members must be submitted before anyone of that team is allowed to shoot.
- Teams will consist of 5 members and 2 alternates.
- Team fee must be paid before anyone on that team is allowed to shoot.
- Specify the number of targets: Offhand: (1) at 25 yards, (1) at 50 yards, and (1) 100 yards. Bench (1) at 50 yards, and (1) at 100 yards.
- The only sand bags to touch the muzzleloader are the ones in front of the trigger guard. NO sand bags placed behind trigger guard.
- Targets will be posted by shooter, and will be pulled by the Range Officer after target is finished or no later than 2 relays.
- Relays will be a length of 30 minutes.
- Targets will be scored 5 holes in the paper, and center of the hole. (NMLRA rules).
- Host team will provide following facilities: scoring shed, outhouses, campsites, wood, and SIGNS.
- A set of range rules will be handed out at the time each shooter picks up their targets.
- NO SMOKING allowed at the shooting benches and the firing line.
- Every member of a team MUST be a current WVMLA member. The membership will be verified by membership card or current membership list.
- The State Association will have re-entry targets for sale each day of the shoot. These targets may be purchased at anytime and shot any relay in which the range is open for shooting.
- Re-entry targets sold on Saturday and Sundy.
- Only WVMLA issued targets will be posted during the Team Shoot range hours.
- The list of winners of the Team Shoot will be listed inthe WVMLA newsletter.
- The names of the West Virginia State Team will also be listed in the WVMLA newsletter. This team is the tip shooters of the Team Shoot and may go to intra-state events.
- The teams must be entered and start by Sunday at noon.
- A meeting chaired by the host team, and held Saturday, will be to discuss and make recommendations to the State Association.
- Competitors shall only use one rifle during the event. if a competitor breaks their rifle check with Range Officer.
